Workspace for a Nevada Open Source Graphics and Game Development Contest
Add your thoughts for development of the following contest idea to expand awareness of open source software and identify Nevada's evolving young "creative class".

Develop a contest based on use of open source graphics and game development applications to create 2D, 3D illustrations, animations and games.

Any school age kid throughout Nevada working alone or in teams (physical or virtual - but all members must be from Nevada)

Structure Thoughts
The contest would be conducted over a period of one calendar year and divided into phases where participants would post status reports on this site which would be universally visible to all other participants and interested parties. Prizes would be provided by public and private sponsors and could include books, scholarships, trips to Pixar or IGT ?????

[http://www.gimp.org[Gimp]] - the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.
